It focuses on “safaris” to the island’s west (Paúl da Serra, Porto Moniz) and east (Pico do Arieiro), exploring stunning landscapes. Key visits include Pico dos Barcelos, Eira do Serrado, and Câmara de Lobos, with an optional whale watching catamaran trip.
DAY BY DAY
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN FUNCHAL
Arrival in Funchal and transfer to the hotel. Check-in and overnight.
Day 2 – Funchal City Tour (Half Day)
Guided tour of Funchal old town, Rua Santa Maria, Farmers’ Market, municipal square (Church of São João Evangelista, Town Hall, Court, University), Sé Cathedral, and Pereira d’Oliveiras wine tasting. Lunch not included; afternoon free.
Optional: Quintas gardens – Quinta Vigia, Santa Catarina Park, Botanical Garden Quinta do Bom Sucesso.
Day 3 – Western Island Safari (Full Day)
Explore the southwest coast, Paúl da Serra plateau, and Porto Moniz natural pools (swimming possible). Return via the north coast. Lunch not included.
Day 4 – Eastern Island Safari (Full Day)
Tour via Poiso Pass to Pico do Arieiro, enjoy trails with lush vegetation, then return via Machico and Garajau. Lunch not included.
Day 5 – Pico dos Barcelos & Surroundings (Half Day)
Visit Pico dos Barcelos, Eira do Serrado / Curral das Freiras, and Câmara de Lobos. Lunch not included; afternoon free.Optional: Catamaran excursion from Funchal Marina with possible whale watching and swimming.
Day 6 – Departure:
Transfer to Funchal Airport for return flight.
